We get it babe, you got 99 problems and skin problems should not be one of them. But sadly it often is. We’re juggling vacays, work, laundry, dates, hormones - and when you need your skin to behave, it decides to throw a tantrum. What’s a girl to do? So here’s the lowdown, straight up truth. Basic babe-ing is how we roll, so get on the glow train with us to babe island. It’s time to get back to basics and KISS (that’s Keep It Simple Sweetie). Read on for your top tips on how to detox your skin the right way.
1. Bamboo Charcoal
You want to gently cleanse and decongest your pores, and detoxify from the outside in, all without irritating your skin - but how you ask? The magic word is: charcoal. Charcoal is the ultimate detoxifier and worth its weight in powder gold when it comes to skincare. Its antibacterial properties cull the nasties from your face that causes breakouts. It’s the vacuum for your skin, sucking up buildup, excess dirt and oil from your pores. A good detox leaves happy, unclogged, breathable pores that are ready to absorb other goodness you put on it. Unleash your pores now with our bamboo charcoal infused Wyld Facial Cleansing Sponges. Use one on its own, morning or night to cleanse and gently exfoliate, while the bamboo charcoal work its magic to detoxify and clarify skin for a flawless glow.
2. Go Natural
If something you’re using is aggravating your skin, but you are not sure what it may be, we’d recommend giving your skin a break, and going back to basics. Cut back on the number of products you’re putting on your skin, and eliminate artificial chemicals that may cause further irritation to your already tender and royally pissed off skin. Stick to gentle, natural ingredients that moisturize, nourish and soothe. A simple all-natural bar of soap, some witch hazel (alcohol-free), a pure rose water toner (not one with rose essential oil added in), and a non-comedogenic face oil is all you need (Sweet Almond oil, rose hip or jojoba oil are all good choices). Limit the amount of makeup you wear and give your skin a chance to breathe.
3. Lemon
You’ve heard it before babe, when life gives you lemons, use it to bust toxin ass. First thing every morning, down a glass of lukewarm water with some slices of lemons. It will flush out toxins in your liver and digestive tract.
4. Clays
Clays are abundant in healthy vitamins and minerals, but yet incredibly gentle for your skin. There are many types of clays to choose from green, red, Rhassoul to pink clay. For inflamed and irritated skin, pink clay is the gentlest and will nourish and heal the skin while detoxifying your pores of gunk. Use our French Pink Clay infused konjac sponges on its own to cleanse and exfoliate away dead skin, while giving it some extra TLC.
5. Exfoliate
No matter your skin type, exfoliation is essential in removing dead flaky skin and unclog those plugged pores. Using our konjac sponges will give you a deep in the pore cleanse that your fingers alone won’t do. At the same time, it is gentle enough even for babies - this means they won’t irritate your skin while it’s taking the time to heal. Avoid harsh brushes and abrasive scrubs as the friction may result in increased inflammation to your already grouchy skin. Ouch.
