6 Morning Hacks Productive Women Should Know
September 25 2017
Sometimes getting out of bed can be a struggle, much less feeling fresh and ready to conquer the day. We’ll give you the lowdown on how we get things done to keep mornings stress free, and look a million bucks as you breeze out the door. Let’s get into it.
The You-Police
You know that old expression, practice makes perfect? Challenge yourself to keep to a routine and stick to it. The more you keep to the routine, the faster you’ll get at it. Everyone’s morning looks different; maybe you start each day with 5 minutes of deep meditation or fifty pushups because you’re a true ‘Joan Claude Van Dame?’ The key is sticking to a routine that works for you.
Prep Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself
The worst part of the morning is making sure you have everything you need, which can get you flustered and throw off your zen. Which bag is my lip liner in? Do I have my umbrella? Do I need this much gum? We recommend getting into the habit of planning everything out (as much as possible) the night before. This is a surefire way to keep your stress levels low because there’s just going to be less for you to do at the start of each day.
BYOB: Build Your Own Buffet
One of the most frustrating parts of being a modern woman is eating what’s right for us. Two magic words: Meal prep. Or, translation: delicious, healthy meals everyday without breaking the bank. By planning out your meals in advance, you not only take control of what you eat, but you also have your lunch ready to go. Now, all you have to do is grab it out of the fridge on your way out the door. We recommend starting a new Sunday tradition of making a few lunches so you have lots of yummy options for the week. We are loving Minimalist Baker and the Healthy Maven for inspiration on yummy quick meals. We’re also into portable breakfasts that you can eat on-the-go because they’re another great way to keep you moving in the morning.
Multi-tasking Makeup
Getting our faces on in the morning can be the most time consuming part of the morning. We recommend finding multi-purpose makeup such as BB cream that can prime, hydrate and protect skin while providing coverage to save on application time. And there are also several natural concealers on the market, many of which can brighten and even out your skin tone while simultaneously using botanical extracts to heal and hydrate. It might not sound like much, but limiting the amount of products we use each morning is not only a time saver – it’s also better for your skin. We’re all about keeping things simple and au naturel over here at Wyld. A quick tip: Gently exfoliating before every make up application will help achieve glowing naked skin to work on. The result: Smooth, dewy complexion with foundation that doesn't cake and lipstick on lips that don't flake.
Express Yourself
Imagine rolling out of bed and not having to worry about your brows? They’re a key element of your whole look, and we know how frustrating it can be filling in those beauties. We’re thinking outside the box on this one, because you can actually temporarily dye the skin under your eyebrows using Henna. This is a next level technique that will keep your brows looking full for about a week. For something more permanent, you can try microblading your brows; it sounds a tad scary, but it’s really not that painful. This might cost a little more, but we’re into it, especially if it helps you speed things up in the morning while having your eyebrows on fleek all day, everyday.
Extra Pep-To-Your-Step
Sometimes we lose the most time in the morning because it’s hard to get motivated and moving. Staying in bed for five more minutes is so much easier, right? If you’re like us, the right jam can be exactly what you need to get yourself up and grooving. (We’re really feeling Bodak Yellow by Cardi B right now.). In the spirit of saving time, we’ve created a Morning Playlist - just press play and you’ll can’t help but get moving. Once you get yourself in the right mood, the rest is a breeze!
